I was sitting here this morning feeling refreshed, grateful, and energized after what has been a very full few weeks.
Two Saturdays ago, we celebrated a milestone as our son Aiden married Michelle. It was a beautiful day surrounded by family and friends and one of those moments that reminds you how quickly the years pass.
Following the wedding, we spent a week at the lake with family visiting from British Columbia, enjoying time together and making memories. Then this past weekend, we closed another chapter as we said goodbye to Ellicottville, New York — a place that has been part of our lives for almost two decades. Many winters were spent there skiing with our children, and it holds many wonderful memories for our family.
While it has been a busy season, it has also been a reminder of the importance of taking time to appreciate where we have been before getting excited about where we are going.
As I look ahead, there are many exciting things on the horizon, both personally and professionally. One of them is happening this evening and is something I genuinely look forward to — our Oral-B Professional Partners Meetup Session.
Approximately every six weeks, Tiffany Lovgren and I have the opportunity to connect with dental hygienists from across the country who are committed to elevating oral health within their practices. These sessions are not lectures. They are conversations.
Together, we explore ways to improve patient oral health, enhance home-care recommendations, implement new ideas, and create a culture within our practices where prevention and oral health promotion remain a priority.
We discuss what is working. We talk about challenges. We share successes. We learn from one another. Most importantly, we focus on implementation.
One of the things I love most about these Meetups is that they continually remind me that improving patient oral health is not about one conversation, one recommendation, or one product. It is about creating a culture within our practices where oral health is a priority, where prevention is valued, and where every interaction is viewed as an opportunity to help patients move one step closer to better health.
Real change happens when oral health becomes something we intentionally focus on every day.
Not occasionally.
Not when it is convenient.
Not only when disease is present.
But as part of who we are as healthcare professionals and as part of the culture we create within our practices.
The small conversations matter.
The recommendations matter.
The follow-up matters.
The consistency matters.
And when these become part of our daily habits, the impact on our patients can be remarkable.
As I look ahead to tonight's Meetup Session that is happening at 7PM EST, I am excited to hear what others are doing, what they are learning, and how they are continuing to level up patient care in their own unique ways.
Because together, we can accomplish far more than any of us can alone.
If you are already an Oral-B Professional Partners Program member, we would love to have you join us this evening. Simply click here to register.
If you are not yet a member but are curious about what the program is all about, you are welcome to join us! Click here to register for tonight's session.
The Oral-B Professional Partners Program is a complimentary program designed for Oral-B advocates who are passionate about improving patient oral health. Members receive access to professional resources, implementation tools, educational opportunities, and a community of dental hygienists dedicated to elevating oral health within their practices.
One of the topics I will also be discussing is how participation in programs such as this can support your Quality Assurance journey. In fact, creating a goal around enhancing patient oral health outcomes, strengthening home-care recommendations, increasing patient engagement, or implementing evidence-informed prevention strategies can make for an excellent QA goal.
I have always believed that when you set a goal and intentionally work toward it, amazing things can happen. You start paying attention. You become more aware of opportunities. You look for ways to apply what you are learning.
That is when the real magic happens.
I hope to see some of you there!
Have a wonderful week and keep moving forward—one patient, one conversation, and one small step at a time.
Warmly,
Kathleen
