This is one of those weeks that reminds me why I love what we do at rdhu.

On Thursday, we’re recording a new episode of The RDH View with Tiffany Lovgren from Crest & Oral-B and Kirsten Fisher from BioGaia. We’ll talk about their paths from clinical practice to corporate roles, and how their experience as dental hygienists continues to shape the work they do today.

On Friday, I’ll be at our sold-out Meet Me at the Winery event with a wonderful group of dental professionals. Lorraine Gambacourt and I will be exploring oral probiotics and practice growth—two topics I’m excited to bring together. Then, over the weekend, Liisa Moore is coming down from Sudbury to lead our sold-out Orthodontic Fundamentals program.

Behind the scenes, our team is busy preparing course supplies, setting up the learning spaces and adding the little touches, including gifts, that make each experience feel special. It takes many hands to bring a week like this together, and I’m so grateful for the people who do that work with such care.

Seeing people make time for these conversations and experiences means so much to me.

Last week, an Entrepreneurial Leadership podcast episode featuring my story was released. My husband Paul and I listened to it together a few days ago. Afterwards, he said how nice it was to look back at the journey and be reminded of why I started.

That stayed with me. When our days are full and the work feels demanding, it can be easy to focus on what needs to happen next. Taking a moment to remember our why helps us see the purpose behind the effort.

What led you to dental hygiene? What matters most to you in the work you do today? Your answers may have changed over the years. Mine have, too. But reconnecting with them can help us keep moving through the harder days and appreciate weeks like this one.

If you’d like to hear more about my journey and the beginnings of rdhu, I’d love to share the conversation with you:

Thank you for showing up for your own growth and for one another. I’m looking forward to seeing many of you this week!

Warmly,

Kathleen
