Some years seem to ease in quietly.

This year hasn’t been one of them.

It feels like we hit the ground running — in the very best way.

Over the past few weeks, our calendar has filled quickly — with in-office laser programs as well as offsite training days hosted with our industry partners in Ottawa, London, and Vancouver. We added a second weekend to our Spring Myofunctional Therapy cohort. And everywhere I turn, I’m seeing practices and dental hygienists saying yes to learning something new.

And honestly?

It’s energizing.

Not because we’re “busy”… but because of what it represents.

Dental hygienists aren’t standing still right now.

They’re growing.
They’re adding skills.
They’re investing in themselves.
They’re looking for ways to elevate both their care and their confidence.

And that’s exactly what keeps this profession exciting.

One area we’re seeing a lot of interest in is Soft-Tissue Laser Therapy. Everywhere you turn, dental hygienists are sharing the power of the laser — better healing, better patient outcomes, and more tools to support non-surgical periodontal therapy.

We’re seeing the same thing with Myofunctional Therapy.

We always hear, “Why didn’t I learn this sooner?” or “This would be perfect for so-and-so.”

Because once you start looking at airway, breathing, and function differently… you simply can’t unsee it. It changes how you assess. How you educate. How you practice. It quietly shifts everything.

What I love most right now is the overall energy.

There’s this feeling of possibility — like many people are saying, “This is the year I try something new.”

And let’s be honest, with so much noise and uncertainty in the world, focusing on something that brings you joy, growth, and engagement feels especially important.

Sometimes that’s all it takes.

One course.
One new skill.
One small shift.

That’s often what sparks the biggest growth — both personally and professionally.

So if you’re looking for inspiration this year, maybe ask yourself:

  • What’s one skill I’ve been curious about?
  • What would make my day-to-day clinical work more exciting?
  • Where could I grow just a little this year?

Because momentum builds quickly once you start.

And it’s a lot more fun when you’re moving forward.

Here’s to a year of growth and momentum!

Warmly,

Kathleen
