These past couple of weeks have been full.

Between our annual team retreat, meeting with our Educational Advisory Committee, planning our fall programs, working on our PACE reapplication, and preparing for some exciting changes behind the scenes, there have been moments where I've looked at my notebook and smiled. There are pages of ideas, sticky notes, half-finished projects, and new plans that are still taking shape.

And yet...

I wouldn't want it any other way.

Years ago, I used to think there would come a point where everything would be "done." The courses would be built. The projects would be complete. The business would somehow run itself, and life would finally slow down.

I've realized that day never comes.

I remember years ago attending one of Darren Hardy's personal development events in California. At the time, I was feeling exactly this way—always looking toward the next goal, the next project, the next milestone. I kept thinking that once I reached the next level, life would somehow settle down.

The theme of the event was The Entrepreneurial Roller Coaster.

The night before I flew home, I had the most vivid dream. I was sitting beside my dad on a roller coaster. He passed away in 1997, but in that dream he felt so real. I get teary writing about it.

As we reached the top of the roller coaster, he looked at me and smiled, took my hand, and simply said...

"Enjoy the ride, love."

I woke up with such a sense of peace.

Later that day, as I was sitting at the airport waiting for my flight, my sisters sent me a message.

It was my dad's birthday. I hadn't realized.

Whether you believe dreams carry messages or simply reflect what's in our hearts, that moment has stayed with me ever since. It changed the way I look at life.

The ride doesn't suddenly end when we reach the next milestone.

There is always another idea to explore, another improvement to make, another opportunity to learn, and another person to serve.

The truth is, most of our lives are lived in the middle of the process.

And I think our professional lives are much the same.

We don't wake up one morning and suddenly become the clinician we've always hoped to be. Confidence isn't a destination—it's built one client, one conversation, one course, one new skill, and one small step at a time.

Sometimes we put pressure on ourselves to have everything figured out before we move forward. We wait until life is less busy. We wait until the timing feels perfect.

If there's one thing I've learned, it's that life rarely slows down.

Growth happens in the middle of busy seasons.

It happens while we're juggling family, clients, projects, vacations, and all the unexpected moments that come with life. It happens because we choose to keep moving forward, even if it's only one small step at a time.

One of the things I've also learned is that stepping away is part of that process. I'm taking a couple of days to recharge before diving back into a project that has been occupying much of my summer. Sometimes, the most productive thing we can do is give ourselves the space to return with fresh eyes, renewed energy, and a clearer perspective.

For many years now, I've shared a simple belief:

Growth = Happiness.

Not because growth is always easy—but because it reminds us that we're moving forward. Every new skill, every meaningful conversation, every challenge we work through helps shape who we become, both professionally and personally.

As we move through August, don't worry about having everything figured out.

Instead, ask yourself:

What's one small thing I can do to continue growing?

Maybe it's reading an article.
Maybe it's trying a new approach with a client.
Maybe it's reconnecting with a colleague.
Maybe it's investing in a course that has been sitting on your "someday" list.

Small steps have a remarkable way of becoming something much bigger than we ever imagined.

Have a wonderful week, enjoy these beautiful summer days, and remember...

Keep learning.

Keep growing.

And above all... enjoy the ride.

Warmly,

Kathleen
