Over here at rdhu, we are busy behind the scenes putting the finishing touches on the Winter Edition (Volume 94) of the Dental Hygiene Quarterly (DHQ) — launching December 15th!

There is something special about wrapping up the year with a brand-new edition. It always feels like a fresh dose of inspiration, clarity, and momentum right when we need it most.

Why DHQ Matters (and why so many RDHs rely on it)

DHQ was created to support you in staying current with your Quality Assurance requirements—not in a stressful, last-minute way, but through steady, meaningful learning every quarter.

Each edition provides:

  • Approximately 3 hours of CE (that’s usually half of what’s required annually depending on where you’re registered)
  • A ready-to-go bibliography you can copy/paste directly into your QA records
  • A goal statement to support learning consolidation
  • Optional bonus resources if you want to dig deeper or make it a 4–5 hour goal
  • Access to relevant, current, engaging topics chosen to elevate your practice

DHQ is designed to keep you ahead—not just compliant.

A Year of Making DHQ Even Better

This year, I set an intention to bring that “in-person, high-production-value” feel back to DHQ. Zoom is wonderful, but there’s something captivating about watching a professionally filmed program where you can truly connect with the presenter.

So we did it!

We brought in a two-camera setup to film Joe Siegfried for his engaging program on What’s in the Myo Essentials Kit?

We brought Jo-Anne Jones into the studio for Screen Smarter! A New Standard in Oral Cancer Screening.

These sessions feel elevated, polished, and incredibly engaging — and we’ll continue building on this format in 2025.

Winter Edition Highlights

This upcoming edition features:

  • Jo-Anne JonesScreen Smarter! A New Standard in Oral Cancer Screening
  • Marija Darwish, RDH, joining us from Copenhagen to share insights on osteoporosis, antiresorptive therapy, and oral disease prevention
  • Susan Woodley, RDHMore Than Just a Pretty Smile: A Comprehensive Guide to Professional Teeth Whitening

We are thrilled to bring global voices and fresh perspectives directly to you.
And yes — we plan on bringing Marija back for next year!

Themes for 2026 and Beyond

To help DHQ members stay consistent, organized, and future-focused, we’re aligning each year with four clear themes:

Winter: Foundations & Calibration — Start the Year Strong

Spring: Innovation in Hygiene — Tools, Tech & Trends

Summer: The Patient Experience Edition

Fall: Periodontal Mastery & Systemic Wellness

We want your DHQ experience to feel predictable, purposeful, and exciting — a quarterly anchor in your professional journey.

What would YOU like to see next year?

We’re curating 2026 topics in January and would love your input.

Is there a topic you want us to explore?

A presenter you’d love to see?

A clinical skill you want to master?

Your voice shapes DHQ.

Thank You for Your Support
