We’re deep into conference and event season, and there’s a special kind of energy that lights up a room—not from the stage, but from the audience.
I remember hearing something from Darren Hardy, likely in a Darren Daily episode, about how powerful it is when someone in the crowd engages. Nods, smiles, eye contact, the occasional “mm-hmm” or knowing laugh—it’s like fuel for the person presenting.
As someone who speaks often, I can tell you firsthand: it makes all the difference.
Whether it’s a big stage, a webinar, or even a team meeting, your presence matters. One person who’s truly with you can help shift nerves into confidence, doubt into flow.
It isn’t easy putting yourself out there as a presenter or taking the lead in a team meeting. But it’s worth it. It helps us grow, push forward, and step out of our comfort zones.
So if you ever find yourself sitting in a crowd, I encourage you—be that person. The one who leans in, who nods, who gives a little energy back.
Not only will you help the presenter shine, but you might find yourself absorbing even more, simply because you’re engaged.
It’s such a small thing, but the ripple effect is big.
Have you ever had someone like that in your audience—or have you been that person for someone else? I’d love to hear about it.
Wishing you a connected, on-track kind of week!
