As we step into a new year, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the initiatives we launched last year. Are there programs you intended to implement—for example: Perio, Lasers, Oral Probiotics—but haven’t fully integrated into your daily practice?
You’re not alone. We work with many offices in the After capacity, helping them bridge the gap between starting a program and successfully sustaining it. The reality is, implementation isn’t always easy. But once a system is in place, you’ll find yourself sailing along with confidence and consistency.
7 Steps to Successfully Implement a New Program:
1. Set the Goal – Define what success looks like. What do you want to achieve with this program?
2. Start Small: Select 2 Patients a Day – Commit to introducing the conversation to just two patients daily. Repetition builds confidence.
3. Track Your Success – Use a simple 30-Day Tracker (provided below) to check off each time you introduce the program. Download, print, and place it in your Team Hub as a daily reminder. Evaluate progress weekly—did you hit your goal?
4. Identify Obstacles – Role-play common objections with your team to refine your approach.
5. Get the Whole Team on Board – Consistency is key! Ensure everyone is aligned and speaking the same language.
6. Celebrate Wins – Acknowledge progress, no matter how small. Positive reinforcement keeps the momentum going.
7. Assign a Program Leader – Designate a team member to track progress, share updates, and schedule follow-ups.
Pro Tip for Laser Implementation: To successfully integrate lasers into your practice, you need one laser per operatory. If you only have one, focus on making that operatory successful first—then invest in expanding. Without the right resources, your laser program will never fully take off. #onelaserperop
New year, fresh start—let’s make sure the programs you envisioned don’t just start, but thrive!
