We had a great few days in Toronto last week for the ODA ASM. It is always so good to see friends and meet people who perhaps we only have met through emails or webinars! Thank you to all of you who came by to say hello.

I wanted to mention a couple of things that were brought up at the conference...

I had a few people ask about the Dental Hygiene Quarterly. It is still thought of as DVD's. We no longer offer the Dental Hygiene Quarterly in the DVD format, as most people no longer have a DVD player and it was becoming problematic for production. We do have a very easy-to-use portal where all the Dental Hygiene Quarterly courses are uploaded. We upload 3 hours of CE into your portal every quarter! You will have access to these courses for 3 years (some for 5 years) and can use them when you are submitting your QA. There is a short test after each course and you will receive a certificate, which is stored in the same portal! These are essentially rdhu's on-demand option.

The Dental Hygiene Quarterly is offered as a stand alone one year purchase or as a subscription. The choice is yours. We created an auto renewal after many requests to do just that. For me personally, I get that. I like subscriptions. Today I purchased a subscription for a wash cloth that is supposed to replace my overuse of paper towels! I know I will need to replace them in 4 months, so rather than me having to look for the link and run these towels beyond their use, I would rather have the company just send me new cloths! I do the same with my skin care, and my National and Provincial Associations as well. When I can, I subscribe. It helps me stay organized. With Dental Hygiene Quarterly, you can subscribe so you don't miss a season or two or even a year and then have to catch up! It is about keeping you on track! Do the 3 hours each quarter and you are doing great! But the choice is yours to order for one year or auto renew. Click here to access both options.

The next thing....

I loved when a few dental hygienists came with their list of the LM instruments that they were going to order at the Curion booth, and shared that their employer agreed once they showed them the actual breakdown of instrument cost per patient. I had sent those worksheets last month through an On-Track Tuesday and they did the breakdown and used the proposal form and their dentist agreed! When you breakdown the cost of instruments per patient, and it comes out to under $1.75 per patient, as an example, it really puts things into perspective and can help you get that annual instrumentation budget you need. It helped with the decision making! Yahoo! This is why I love doing what I do.

Thank you for your support and for reading these On-Track Tuesdays! I am thrilled that you like these, as I enjoy thinking of ways to help where I can. Pam, from Oral Science suggested that I turn these into a book! I love it :) One day I might! In the meantime, I have been asked to have my own column in a dental hygiene journal. Please stay tuned....

Have a great week!
