One of the things I always look for in a situation is how I can make something easier for someone. It is kind of 'my thing'. I see a void and try to fix it by filling the void! I have created my dental businesses this way. I saw a problem with instruments and maintenance many many years ago, so I created D-Sharp Dental Instruments (which I have sold 10 years ago); I saw how unprofessional many offices looked, so I created Scrubs Couture (which I have sold) and played a large part in changing the fashion for dental professionals; I saw how confused dental hygienists were about the CDHO QA program and created an online tool called the Portfolio Manager to help them implement their requirements online; I saw and experienced how boring a lot of CE was for dental hygienists, sitting in a room with a hundred plus other dental hygienists and unsure how to take the learning and implement into practice to enhance and improve our client/patient care and practice, so created rdhu.

When someone asks us a question on how to do something, we typically will record a video and show them how to do it. ie How to Copy and Paste, How to Surf the Net to look for resources (& have more than one page open), How to Upload a Document, like your CPR, How to Enter a Goal after taking a course at rdhu (which we started doing this year); How to create a Bibliography, How to Create a Goal Statement, What instruments to put into a kit, the list goes on!

The rdhq is another example of us, here, at rdhu, being the easy button. The rdhq is rdhu's online membership or subscription, where you receive 12 hours of CE every year. 3 hours every quarter. It arrives in your personal portal. We have set the renewal to be automatic or not. It's your choice. For years we couldn't set up this function and many people would fall behind and then have to re-register and catch up on their CE by watching umpteen number of hours. They would ask us if we could make it an automatic renewal. It was not possible for us at the time. It's the same thing for our Dental Hygiene Associations. I always wished they would just automatically sign me up. Over the last couple of years, this is now an option for us. It is the easy button. So I don't have to think about it anymore and register late (which is what would happen every year!).

The rdhq fills a void. It is engaging. Inspiring. Evidence-based. Designed by and for Dental Hygienist who understand and can relate to our needs and our pains. rdhq meets the Regulatory Body Requirements. It keeps you up to date. 12 hours of CE per year plus we have added The RDH View to this membership.

Spring 2021 for rdhq is now available. It will be found in your personal portal, along with the short quizzes and your Certificates.

rdhq has gone through many name changes over the years. It was the DVD Journal, DVD Dental Hygiene Quarterly, Dental Hygiene Quarterly (just to name a few!) and is now called the rdhq ~ rdhu's online quarterly CE membership. The original owner, Ray Homer, started DVD Journal and I was one of the first presenters invited on this platform. Ray created a wonderful platform and partnered with the Canadian Dental Hygienist's Association. Ray retired 5 years ago and came to rdhu with the acquisition, as it was such a great fit for rdhu. I saw the need. The simplicity, the systemized approach and ease for dental hygienists to receive not only their 3 CE every quarter but also a way for us to stay connected and feel engaged and current with an every changing, exciting and growing profession.

It takes a lot of work to put one edition together. As soon as we launch one edition we are on to the next edition! There is tons of research, planning, vetting, recording, production, creating, edits, drafts, and launch, and more! It takes a village! But we are super proud of this membership. If you aren't part of this journey with us, I would love for you to experience it and join us.

If you are a member and have some suggestions for topics or presenters, we would love to hear from you.

This year we have some live courses being offered (free to rdhq members) that will then be available as a recording in your membership. You can watch it live or recorded. The choice is yours. Click here if you would like to be a member. Use the promo code CDHA if you are a CDHA member and receive $50 discount as a Partnership with the CDHA. This is $149 for 12 months of membership. Now being 22 Hours of CE delivered in your Personal Portal for $149 (that's $7/hour for CE).

Click here to join us and register for rdhq!

Now, what can you do within your practice to be the easy button for your patients and perhaps even your practice? Can you create a video recording or record a presentation to send to your clients and patients who haven't yet come in to see you since the original closures? Can you send them How To video's on topics where you know they are asking questions on 'How To' do something.....on how to maintain their implants, their appliances, how to use their iO Power Brush, how to use interdental brushes...the possibilities are endless. How can you be the easy button?

Thank you for reading and have a great week ahead. Please take a look below for what is coming up (courses, events, super cool specials and contests)!

Kindest regards,

Kathleen
