With Oral Health month just around the corner and National Dental Hygienists week kicking it off...how are you going to be celebrating and acknowledging?

What are you going to do differently this year than you did last?

Oral Health month last year was an eye opener for us. We were deemed non-essential at the time.

Times have changed since then and we are now recognized as essential. As frontline workers.

Have you changed how you practice, besides the tools that might be in your hands (ie non-aerosol or aerosol generating)?

Have you changed your communication with your clients/patients and really emphasized that now, more than ever, their dental hygiene appointment is a medical appointment and that what they do at home to maintain optimal oral health matters?

Have you shared the association between periodontitis and severity of COVID‐19 infection? There is a study of more than 500 patients with COVID-19 that found that those with gum disease were 3.5 times more likely to be admitted to intensive care, 4.5 times more likely to need a ventilator, and almost nine times more likely to die compared to those without gum disease. *Gum disease linked to COVID-19 complications; by European Federation of Periodontology (EFP)

Why is it that we still have 80% of our clients still showing signs of disease and inflammation?

There is another study that was done with the Crest & Oral B products (see button below).

After 12 weeks 80% of the patients who used the new iO and Stannous (Pro Health) were brought back to health. Only 20% with a manual brush and sodium fluoride.

100% of patients were brought back to healthy (from gingivitis) when on the regimen (that included the CPC rinse and floss, stannous and iO).

The power is within us to make the change. We shouldn't pass the manual brush and floss and say, "See you in 6 months"!

I feel so passionate about this.

The fight is real!

Let's battle biofilm together and help change these odds. Let's shoot for 100 instead of 20!

I'm excited to share that next month, we will be a part of a campaign with 123Dentist and Crest & Oral B. A movement, so to speak, to change the odds. rdhu members are invited to join in as well. We will select 2 winners through rdhu (and will be separate if you are working in a 123Dentist office).

For every patient you switch from manual to power, throughout the month of April, you will get an entry into the draw. One entry for every patient you convert.

You can place your order with Crest & Oral B prior to or let your client's know that you can offer them your professional discount and take their order.

The two winners will receive the new iO for EACH team member of the office where they work. This is huge.

More info will follow but I wanted to get you thinking and prepared for Oral Health Month.

What clients are coming in that you need to switch over? How many clients have not come in that you need to switch over?

The studies and evidence are there. Share this with your clients.

We own this.

Thank you for reading and have a great week ahead. Please take a look below for what is coming up!

If you have any questions please email us or call (1-855-295-7348).

Kindest regards,
