Happy New Year! Although it was a very different holiday indeed, I hope it was a nice one :)

It’s a New Year and another opportunity for a reset! I always find that after the holidays, with all the indulging (i.e. eating and drinking more than I should!), the New Year is a great time to reflect and make a change (oh, but how I will miss you, sweet Egg Nog….).

I always look for ways that I can improve…

a. My health (mental, physical, me time)

b. My relationships (spouse, kids, family, friends)

c. My practice (work relationships, client care, Quality Assurance)

One of the areas where I know we can help you, is in your practice.

Every year we strive to create ways to help make things just a little easier for our clients (aka ~ you!), so that you have less stress when you start to think of ways and ideas on how you can improve or enhance your client care and practice. We want to save you time and the stress caused when trying to put a plan together. We can save you the stress of looking for ideas on what this year’s goal is going to be, or where you are going to find the CQI activities, or what can you document in your learning, and what you can take from your learning to improve and enhance the client care and practice.

This is our specialty. This is what we love to do.

I like to sit and journal and consider the rdhu experience through my client’s eyes. This is a great exercise you can do too, by the way! Sit and write and look for ways that you can make things better for your clients. How can you ease their stress? Or how you can connect with those who haven’t been in to make sure they are ok and to remind them of how safe your practice is. Or offer them helpful tips that they can do while at home (ie Oral B Power Brush ~ Genius or iO Technology, interproximal brush, Stannous Fluoride (ie Crest Gum Detoxify or Gum & Sensitivity Toothpaste).

We can always improve, no matter how great your practice might be, there is always something that you will find, that you can tweak, to make it a little better.

We strive for this every year.

What can we do to help you to make your professional portfolio something that you don’t have to stress over?...

This year, we will be providing you with:

a. The RDH View ~ One-Hour CQI Activity that you can enter into your Learning Portfolio ~ Additional Goal Activities ~ every month (except for July, August). Or if it relates to a goal, you can enter it under that goal. This will give you 10 hours of non-goal Activities for FREE. Done…easy. The nice thing about entering in The RDH View, is it’s easy. When entering something like a journal you must enter in: the journal name, the issue, and each and every article you read, who wrote it, their credentials and the page numbers. That can be a lot of work and time consuming. Versus, for instance:

Activity: CE

In our Hearts and Minds: Heart Health, Brain Health and Oral Systemic Health; presented by: Machelle Hudson, RDH and Anne O. Rice, BS, RDH, FAAOSH, CDP with The RDH View; Kathleen Bokrossy, RDH, Anna Louise Tolan, RDH, FADIA, Beth Parkes, RDH, BSc, and Kerry Lepicek, RDH; www.rdhu.ca

b. Goal Bundles. We are creating Goal Topics that will include a variety of online courses, reading material, studies, etc. so that you will have a Goal-in-a-package kind of idea (we are still thinking of a clever marketing name for this. If you have one, please send it to me!)

It will be your one-stop-place for that bundle. You can always add your own activities to these goals if you like, as well.

c. Our Live Streaming courses, will be recorded and available for 30 days following the course, in case you have to miss one of the days. These 4 – 6 hour courses will provide 8 – 10 hours in total as we provide extra CQI activities to help you complete the goal. Again, one-stop-CQI Activities.

d. Subscribe to our YouTube channel, where we will be adding screen sharing videos on ways to make life easier for you on the computer and other short videos that we think can help you.

If you have any suggestions, we would love to hear from you. We get our ideas from speaking with you, hearing your pain and frustrations and noticing what our members needs are, so that we can look for ways to be the 'easy button' and support you.

Thank you for reading and have a great week ahead! Please see below for what is coming up and any special promotions that we can collect for you.

Kindest regards,

Kathleen
