To stay on the Energy Drainer topic, (because I know we are all feeling it these days!), I thought I would share another thing that we can do to maintain our energy. And that is how to not let things knock us down for too long!

We all hit obstacles in our life that can many times knock us down. The key is to be mindful that this is happening, accept what has happened, allow yourself a set amount of time to feel the pain, and then get over it and move on. I am not referring to loss of a loved one; I am referring to getting knocked down from an event or someone who has been hurtful toward you.

It's not easy to do.

When things knock us down, we get thrown off balance.

It's okay to feel the pain from what has happened but you can't let it take you down for too long. You can't let it control your thoughts for months or even years.

I have had things happen to me, as an example, in my business life.

Major things that totally knocked me down.

They were pretty major events in my life. They knocked me down for a long time.

Once I heard this concept, about not letting the things that you have no control over to control your life, and to come up with a Plan B and move on, I implemented and no longer allow myself to feel drained for too long!

Have a positive mindset. Stuff happens to all of us, whether it is personal or professional. You just have to be mindful of what is happening. Allow yourself a certain amount of time to grieve or be upset. Have a plan in place to either remove yourself from this draining situation or accept what has happened and move on.

  1. Take some time to relax: Take some time to care for yourself. ...
  2. Practice mindfulness: Mindfulness is learning how to focus your attention and become more aware. ...
  3. Distract your mind and focus on something else: Focus your mind on something other than what's causing your stress.

We need to try and keep centred! Don't let others take you down!

Thank you for reading and have a great week ahead. Please take a look below for what is coming up!

Kindest regards,

Kathleen
