As we wind down 2021, there is so much to be grateful for, and it is a great time to show appreciation!

I wanted to take this time today to recognize one of our leaders at rdhu, Beth Parkes, who was promoted to be our Vice President this year.

We made the announcement over the summer on a live webinar; however, many are reaching out and saying they didn't know, and congratulating Beth! So, I wanted to make this well-deserved announcement! We are absolutely so fortunate to have Beth on our team and to have "leaned in" to this role as Vice President of rdhu.

During these times of uncertainty, Beth showed such great leadership skills.

As a leader, one must show that they can adapt to change and during these uncertain times, Beth demonstrated this!

Beth, as a leader, demonstrates:

  • Active listening
  • Empathy
  • The ability to share clear messages and make complex ideas easy to understand for everyone
  • Strategic thinking skills
  • Acquiring new skills
  • Creativity
  • The ability to inspire and compel others
  • Flexibility
  • Balance of family and professional life

We, as dental hygienists, are leaders.

Who is a true leader in your practice and have you ever acknowledged them?

As the year winds down, and we show our appreciation for each other through thoughtful words, cards or gifts, perhaps there is that special person that you would like to recognize.

On a side note, check out Beth's recent article in Oral Hygiene Journal. View as a download at the button below!

Well done, Beth! Another article published! Do you have something that you would like to research and publish? Perhaps 2022 is the year for you to do just that!

Thank you for reading and have a great week ahead. Please take a look below for what is coming up!

Kindest regards,

Kathleen
